Energy Management
Harnessing renewable energy
In 2018, we began installing solar photovoltaic system on the roofs of our factories to reduce reliance on conventional energy. Currently, total renewable energy represents 5% of our total electricity consumption for TG plants in west Malaysia and we have set target to increase it to 10% and 20% by 2025 and 2035 respectively.
Our effort to maximise renewable energy in our operation remain unchanged despite our subscription to GET programme launched by TNB. In 2022, we expect to complete installation of solar photovoltaic system at two production sites with investment cost of RM2.3 million. We expect to generate additional 1,556K kWh renewable energy annually.
Improving operational efficiency
In 2022, a subsidiary participated in Energy Efficiency Project Malaysia under Twelfth Plan (RMK-12), aiming to implement energy-saving measure based on the energy audit report outcome.
Improving operational efficiency will be a continuous effort for us to look for opportunities to improve operational and energy efficiency.
